VISIT OF DR.KANTI BAJPAI
Dr.Kanti Bajpai, Head Master-The Doon School, Dehradun visited Mayo College on 26th August, 2006. He came here on a 3-day visit. Prof.Bajpai specialises in International relations. He is an old boy of the Doon School and after his schooling, he went to Canada to earn his masters degree in Political Science. He also has a Ph.D in the same subject. He has been a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University.
He spoke to the students at the Bikaner Pavilion about the various schools of thoughts in Indian Polity, namely Nehruvian, Neo-liberal and Hyper-real and explained to the students the outlook of these three schools of thoughts in reference to the relationship with Pakistan.
He visited the school on 27th August, 2006 and saw the various facilities provided to the students in the school. He was very impressed with the IT facility. He also spoke to the staff members of Mayo College at the Stow Club about the sanctity of public school education in the upbringing of a child and the various responsibilities of the teachers of a public school in shaping the career of a child. He also spoke elaborately on globalisation and how we should gear up ourselves to face the world of tomorrow.
He shall be visiting the Mayo College Girls' School and the Mayoor School on Monday and shall leave for Dehradun by evening.
