A workshop for the teaching staff on Information Technology was conducted between 18th February, 2006 and 24th February, 2006. This was the third workshop in IT skill-set that was conducted for the teachers and it has become a regular feature every year.
The 7 day programme was conducted by Ms.Vimla Basel from V.S.Silicon Education (I) Pvt. Ltd., Dehradun. The idea of the workshop was to instill the basic technology skills required for a teacher for effective classroom teaching.
The workshop was attended by 60 teachers from the Senior School and the Junior School. The workshop dealt in imparting skills in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power Point, MS-Access for beginners. The workshop also imparted necessary skills in software like Adobe PageMaker, Adode Photoshop and Macromedia Flash for advanced users.
Teachers participated in the Workshop with much enthusiasm and were keen to make presentations. The workshop also provided ample scope for hands on work by the participants. These workshops raise the confidence level in teachers that a good amount of resource material for teaching as teaching aids is being prepared by teachers themselves.
