The annual cricket fixtures between Mayo Staff team – MAYO MAESTROS and OCEANS XI commonly called as BOLLYWOOD XI are always looked forward to and cherished with great joy.

This May,14 member contingent of Mayo Maestros lead by Principal Mr.Pramod Sharma and Bursar Mr.Dinesh Bhatnagar went to Mumbai on a four day tour to play two matches.

Mayo Maestros won the first match against Oberoi Group in a sensational style. Mayo scored 236 in 35 overs. Star performers were Sherry (118 not out off 78 balls), Mr.Manni (27 off 30 balls), Mr.Yash (25 off 18 balls). Mayo got Oberoi team score only 194 runs in 35 overs.

Mayo lost the second match with the hosts Oceans XI which was played in 20-20 format. Mayo batting first scored 157 for 9 in 20 overs. Sherry again scored a half century (52 runs) and Rohit Patrick scored another half century (57 runs). Oceans eleven gave a devastating start with both openers scoring half tons (Ajay 66 runs and Rajesh 53 runs). But Mayo made them reach the target only in the last over with some exhilarating bowling performance by Mr.Alok Sharma and Mr.Manni.

Our hosts gave a very fond farewell to Principal Mr.Pramod Sharma who is laying down office in July this year. Mr.Sharma in his farewell speech promised that this fixture and exchange of such warmth and hospitality between both the teams would continue in future as well.
