The Echoing Alma Mater – ‘Mayo’

‘I never can do it,’ the little kite said,

As he looked at the others high over his head;

‘I know I should fall if I tried to fly.

‘Try,’ said the big kite, ‘only try !

Or I fear you will never learn at all.’

The dauntless Mayoites believe in victory. Victory, no matter how hard the road maybe, for without victory there is no survival.

On Saturday, April 25, 2009, Mayo College Junior School went to the Parle – G Biscuit Factory, Birla City Water Park and the Amusement Park. The children watched a documentary film based on the Parle – G Biscuit Factory and the making of biscuits.

The boys moved to The Water Park with a song on their lips.

‘You’d better take care,’‘ piped the bird to the frog,

‘In the water you’ll be if you fall off that log.

Can’t you see that the streamlet is up to the brim ?’

Croaked the froggie, ‘What odd ! You forget I can swim !’

The children enjoyed thoroughly in the Birla City Water Park. They went for various rides and swam in all the pools. At dusk, the boys went to the Amusement Park. Sitting on the see-saw, slides, merry – go – rounds, mini – trains etc. was a sheer delight. Hunger is the best sauce. The children relished hot ‘Chola – Bhaturas’ and ‘Ras Malais’ and returned back to their island of peace, happy and contented.

There isn’t time, there isn’t time

To do the things I want to do –

With all the mountain – tops to climb

And all the woods to wander through.

And all the seas to sail upon,

And everywhere there is to go,

And all the people, every one

Who lives upon the earth, to know.

Nay, not so. May God Almighty bless our revered Headmaster Sir Pramod Chaturvedi who finds time for all the boys in the Junior School and helps us in finding time to do all the things children want to do. In the Echoing Alma Mater – ‘Mayo’, Mayoites always sing.
