Independence Day was celebrated in a grand scale at Mayo College on 15^th August, 2011.  On this occasion, Master Suryansh Kumar, the youngest student on campus was the Chief Guest and Maj Gen KVS Lalotra, Principal, Mayo College was the Guest of Honour.  The National flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour and this was followed by the march past of all the NCC troops and scouts.  Students spoke about the importance on the day in Hindi and English and patriotic songs were sung by students of the Junior and the Senior School.  A football match was also organized between the Adult Education Society and the students of Mayo College.
